Carribean AIRLINES - FAQ

Q.Will I be able to use my voucher or old ticket to travel?
A.Yes. All valid tickets or vouchers will be accepted for travel. Kindly, check with our Reservations Sales and Service Center for your specific details.
Please note, if the new airfare, taxes or fees are more than the value of your document in hand, then the difference will become applicable for payment.

Q.What does it mean to be fully vaccinated?
A.A fully vaccinated individual is defined as a person who has received the required number of doses of a WHO (World Health Organization) approved vaccine and it has been two weeks post the final recommended vaccine dose(s).

Q.Do I have to take a COVID test to enter Trinidad and Tobago or any of Caribbean Airlines’ other destinations?
A.Different countries are accepting different types of COVID tests as a pre-requisite for entry.
Effective 1 July, travellers (vaccinated or unvaccinated against COVID 19) entering Trinidad and Tobago no longer have to produce negative PCR or ANTIGEN COVID test at check-in as a requirement for entry.
For ALL other territories: Customers may verify the entry requirements and other important travel information for their intended destination by using the Caribbean Airlines Sherpa Tool at: travelguidelines.caribbean-airlines.com.

Q.Would I have to be vaccinated to fly to any Caribbean Airlines destinations?
A.Customers may verify the entry requirements and other important travel information for their intended destination by using the Caribbean Airlines Sherpa Tool.

Q.Am I safe to travel as soon as I’m vaccinated?
A.According to the World Health Organization:
For 2-dose vaccines, the protection provided is only partial after the first dose, and time is needed – typically 2 weeks – before protection reaches its maximum level after the second dose.
For a 1-dose vaccine, maximum protection against COVID-19 only kicks in a few weeks after having got the vaccine.
It is important to stress that no vaccine provides 100% protection against COVID-19.
Travel, like any activity that involves coming into contact with other people from different households, is not risk-free even after full vaccination. The good news is that having the required number of doses and giving time for the vaccines to take effect significantly reduces your risk of becoming seriously ill and spreading the virus to others.

Q.Do I have to wear a mask when travelling on Caribbean Airlines?
A.It is strongly encouraged. Caribbean Airlines recommends that all eligible customers wear an approved face mask/covering throughout their entire journey at all Caribbean Airlines touch-points from check-in at the airport, departure gate areas, jet-bridges and on-board the aircraft for the duration of their flight.

Q.Why do I need to arrive at the airport 4 hours before my flight?
To accommodate the added safety measures, passengers are asked to arrive at the airport 4 hours before the scheduled departure time for international flights and 3 hours before for domestic flights between Trinidad and Tobago. This is to allow for adequate check-in and security processing time.

Q.What happens if I have an elevated temperature?

Q.How long will a refund take?
A.Please note that due to COVID-19, we are experiencing a high volume of requests and it will take much longer than usual to process your request. The company acknowledges that many of our loyal customers have been awaiting a response on the status of their refund application, however the impact of the pandemic continues to be a challenge in settling our obligations in a timely manner, Rest assured that your refund claim remains one of CAL’s priorities and it will be expedited as soon as possible.
