Parents often worry when their child is about to embark on this particular adventure. And although there are various reasons why a child might have to fly unaccompanied, there is no reason to worry about it. Our UM service takes care of children travelling alone before, during and after the flight. The UM service is compulsory for a UM (Unaccompanied Minor) under 12 years of age. You are welcome to book the service if you like for minors aged between 12 and 17 years. Please note that in case of irregularities children aged between 12 and 17 years, for whom no UMNR Service was booked, will not receive special assistance.
We can now accept bookings for unaccompanied children on our direct connections. If you already have a confirmed direct flight incl. assistance service for your child, it continues to be valid.
Below 2 years – Must always be accompanied by an adult person of at least 18 years.
2 – 4 years – May only travel if accompanied by a silbling/ legal guardian of minimum 16 years or a person of minimum 18 years of age.
5 – 11 years – If travelling alone: UM service is mandatory Accompanying person must be a minimum of 12 years of age.
12 – 17 years – UM service is available upon request but not mandatory.
